Acan

Acan Lords (Acanthastrea / Micromussa lordhowensis) are the candy of the LPS world — chunky, jewel-toned discs in seemingly impossible combinations of red, teal, orange, purple, and rainbow. Their fleshy polyps plump up dramatically under the right conditions, forming dense, colorful colonies that grow head by head. Acans are wonderfully easy: low-to-moderate light, gentle flow, and placement low in the rockwork or on the sand bed suits them perfectly. Feed meaty foods in the evening when their feeder tentacles emerge and watch the colony expand noticeably faster.
