Cyphastrea is the carpet-bomber of coral color — an encrusting stony coral that spreads across rockwork in sheets of contrasting polyp "stars," with famous morphs like Meteor Shower lighting up shaded ledges. It's one of the most forgiving encrusting corals in the hobby: low-to-moderate light, moderate flow, and standard reef parameters are plenty. Because it thrives where many corals sulk, Cyphastrea is perfect for coloring the shaded mid-and-lower rockwork that would otherwise stay bare rock.
