Favia

Favia brain corals are the night-sky of the reef — dome-shaped and encrusting colonies packed with corallite "eyes" that glow in contrasting rim-and-center combinations, from splattered teal on rainbow to moonstone green on crimson. Favias are hardy, slow-and-steady growers that suit reefers of every level: give them moderate light and moderate, indirect flow, and feed meaty foods at night when their tentacles emerge. A word of caution — Favias throw long sweeper tentacles after dark, so leave a generous buffer between them and their neighbors.
