Montipora is the perfect gateway into SPS keeping — faster-growing and far more forgiving than Acropora, yet every bit as colorful. Available in plating, encrusting, and branching (digitata) forms, Montis build stunning structures: swirling multi-level plates, technicolor crusts, and dense finger-like thickets. Grafted varieties even fuse two colors into a single jaw-dropping colony. Give them moderate-to-high light and strong, varied flow, and keep calcium and alkalinity steady to fuel their impressive growth rates. Their fast expansion also makes them one of the most rewarding corals to watch develop month over month.
